This year’s Puerto Rican Festival brings with it a number of top notch entertainers. As the weekend progresses, watch for appearances by the following…Friday, 7/30 -Reggae/hip hop/Latin artists, Angel & Khriz, who are touring in support of their latest album, Da’ Take Over; and Latin artists, Carlos y Alejandra (Carlos Vargas Franco Jr. and Bianca Alejandra Feliz), whose debut album is La Introduccion…Saturday, 7/31 – Freestyle music artist Johnny O, who has released eight albums performs. Hit singles include the popular Latin songs “Fantasy Girl,” “Highways of Love,” and “Memories;” Latin Freestyle artist Cynthia, known as the Queen of her genre, is also on the bill. Her hits include “Change on Me,” “Thief of Hearts,” “Endless Nights,” and “Dream Boy Dream Girl;” and Rey Ruiz, the salsa singer from Cuba concludes Saturday’s lineup. He has released nine albums, and is hailed as a romantic and passionate artist by critics. Hit singles include “No Me Acostumbro” and “Amiga.”…Sunday, 8/1 – Tropical/Latin artist and four time Grammy nominee, Plena Libre, are scheduled to perform. With thirteen albums released over a fifteen year career, this is one of the hottest Latin acts on the scene today. Album titles include My Rhythm, Scrambled Together, and De Parranda; and the Grammy nominated Latin salsa singer, songwriter and improviser, Victor Manuelle also performs. He served as co-host at the Latin Grammy Awards show in 2006; and has released thirteen albums to date including his latest, Yo Mismo.
