Head Chef: Chris Gressell
At Lovin’ Cup you can experience the feel of a European bistro, as well as the novelty of a unique pub. It’s lively, yet relaxed, with something for everyone. Inspired by art, music, and creativity, Lovin’ Cup offers fresh food, quality coffees, micro-brewed beers and wines.
On the menu you’ll find garden fresh salads, made-from-scratch soups, classic sandwich favorites, unique paninis, hot and gooey gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh personal pizzas and daily specials that could be anything from a gourmet burger, to the Jerk Blackened Pork Loin Sandwich, to a specialty steak once and a while! An amazing drink selection includes soft drinks, gourmet coffee drinks, one of the largest and freshest selections of microbrew beers, as well as a varied wine list. You can top off your meal with a selection from the rotating dessert case. Plus, a full brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday.
Head Chef Chris Gressell learned about food early in his life, having studied under his stepfather from age 15 to 26 at a well known restaurant called Brumby’s. At age 27, he took his talents and opened up a small cafe on main street in the city, called CJ’s Soups and Sandwiches - a place that quickly and lovingly distinguished Chris as the “Soup Nazi.” Not because he was stingy with his soups, but because they were amazing. The owners of Lovin’ Cup tried Chris’s food, and lured him to be a part of their new adventure.
Chris blends a style of clean simplicity and creative artistry, with specialties along many points in the spectrum. With new specials every day, he keeps patrons wondering, while providing them with the staples they have come to love. From his creative soups with flavors that deviate from being just average (Sweet Potato Jalepeno Cheddar is a favorite), his daily quiche special (customers swear it’s the best they have ever had), and a steak that rivals some of Rochester’s best steakhouses, Chris is a chef of many different faces. He keeps things fresh and unique, and continues to pleasantly surprise, keeping people coming back to see what’s next.
