Head Chef: Michael Yaeger
Hidden behind an historic saw blade factory, Pomodoro Grill & Wine Bar combines a unique rustic-industrial setting, with friendly, attentive service, and exceptional food. The menu offers contemporary Italian cuisine, with a seasonal focus, featuring lighter dishes in the spring and summer, autumn flavors in the fall, and more hearty dishes in the winter.
Head Chef Michael Yaeger began his culinary career at Lombardi’s of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He returned to Rochester, lending his talents at Restaurant 2Vine, the Lodge at Woodcliff, and Grill at Strathallan, before coming to Pomodoro in 2004. Starting as a line cook, he quickly moved into the sous-chef position, and it wasn’t long before his skills brought him to the position of head chef.
Chef Yaeger uses the flavors from his Italian upbringing and combines them with an interest in French cuisine. He loves utilizing the natural flavors from fresh ingredients, such as vine ripened tomatoes, olive oil and fresh herbs. With the support of his family, he is able to keep a healthy mind to conitnue cooking creatively. You can watch him and his team at work in the open kitchen at Pomodoro’s, preparing many wonderful original entrees, as well as the restaurant’s signature gourmet pastas and wood-fired pizzas.
