For the best in rock, metal and shred, tune in every Wednesday evening from 10pm till midnight for the one and only Academy of Shred heard on 88.5 WRUR and online at wrur.org and wxxi.org . “Nobody does it better” than Heavy Metal Bob, Shredmaster Steve and Todd The Thrashmaster. National and local artists are featured every week. This show has become the “talk of the town” with its listeners, and the Academy of Shred’s fan base grows week by week in the rock and metal community. Bands can drop off their demos at Heavy Metal Records, 75 W. Main St., Webster, which is by far one of the best metal shops east of the Mississippi, open Mon-Sat, 12-6pm (872-4129). Heavy Metal Records also provides much of the music played on the Academy of Shred broadcast.
