Transformation/Revelation
Each of the more than thirty works in the new exhibition, Transformation/Revelation: The Art of Change invites the viewer to discover that which is transformed or revealed by the artist.’ The works, all from the Memorial Art Gallery’s collection, range from a16th-Century woodcut by the Dutch artist, Goltzius; to an innovative solarplate etching by contemporary master printmaker, Dan Welden. The show will be housed in the Lockhart Gallery of the MAG, 500 University Avenue, from May 25 thru September 9. Call (585) 276-8900.
6 X 6 Preview
Rochester Contemporary Art Center at 137 East Avenue will present an “In Gallery Preview” of works featured in their 5th annual 6 X 6 Exhibition on May 30, 31 & June 1. The pieces in this show are made and donated by celebrities, international and local artist, designers, college students and others. Each work is 6 X 6 square and signed only on the back – therefore they are exhibited anonymously. Starting June 2, all of the pieces will be for sale to the public for $20 each to benefit RoCo.
