<p><strong> •ROCHESTER ORATORIO SOCIETY</strong> – A special evening program, Voices of Liberation, is planned on May 18 in Hochestein Performance Hall, 50 N. <p><strong>•WESTSIDE BENEFIT</strong> – The 13th annual Ecumenical Benefit Concert, sponsored by the Westside Coalition of Christian Churches on Sunday, will be held on May 19 at Pearce Memorial Church, 4322 Buffalo Road in North Chili.  The program features choir and instrumentalists from Community Christian, Holy Ghost Catholic, Gates Presbyterian, Open Door Baptist, Pearce Memorial, Trinity Emmanuel Lutheran, St. Paul’s and Concordia Lutheran churches.  Choirs from each, and a combined vocal men’s and women’s choir, will perform with the Anderssohn Quartet serving as featured guest artist.  Call (585) 594-9488.</p>

<p><strong>•FIRST MUSE SERIES</strong> – The final concert in this year’s First Muse Chamber Music season is set for May 5 at the First Unitarian Church, 220 S. <p><strong>•70s LASER</strong> – The May laser show, presented on Saturday nights this month at the RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium, 657 East Avenue, is 70s Laser.  Songs like “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac, “Popcorn” by Hot Butter and “Draggin’ the Line” by Tommy James will be heard along with “Macho Man” by the Village People and “Night Fever” by the Bee Gees as brilliantly colored laser light fills the starry dome.  Call (585) 271-4320.</p>

<p><strong>•IRISH PROGRAM BENEFIT CONCERT</strong> – The Irish Children’s Program of Rochester will hold its annual Benefit Concert and Silent Auction on April 21 in Cleary Auditorium @ St. John Fisher College.  The family event will feature performances by The Dady Brothers, Everheart, Wingin’ It, Bob’s Brothers Band and The Dustmen along with the Young School of Irish Dance, Drumcliffe Irish Arts, the Dunleavy School of Irish Dance and the Shannonside Ceili Dancers.  There will also be a silent auction ongoing throughout the day.  Visit www.irishchildrensprogram.com.</p>

<p><strong>•BRIAN PETERS</strong> – A Heartland House Concert is planned on April 20 at 20 Winbourne Road featuring Brian Peters.  Peters is described as “one of British folk music’s finest ambassadors” as he brings the sound of English folk clubs to the U.S.  Known for his skill on the English squeezebox, melodeon and anglo concertina as well as guitar, his performances also feature his impressive vocals and energetic stage presence.  Call (585) 328-3103.</p>

<p><strong>•WOMEN IN MUSIC FESTIVAL</strong> – The Eastman School of Music is presenting its “Women in Music Festival” from March 25 thru 29.  The event offers concerts, lectures, and recitals in a variety of locations around town – at Nazareth College, Eastman School, Hochstein School of Music and Dance, and the First Universalist Church.  Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner, whose work has earned comparisons to music giants Elliott Carter and Oliver Messiaen, will be in residence to present a symposium, coach students and more. <p><strong>•ROCHESTER PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA</strong> – On February 28 and March 2 in Kodak Hall @ Eastman Theatre, 60 Gibbs Street, the RPO will offer a concert titled <em>Exquisite Puccini.</em>  The program includes works by Gioachino Rossini and Giacomo Puccini as well as by George Frederic Handel.   On March 3rd at the Hochstein Music Hall, 50 N. <p><strong>•PEGASUS EARLY MUSIC</strong> – Pegasus Early Music welcomes violist Elizabeth Wallfisch – a performer of international renown – to perform a program of the rarely-offered “Mystery Sonatas” of Franz Ignaz Biber.  Based on the <em>Mysteries of the Rosary</em>, each sonata depicts an episode in the lives of Christ and the Virgin Mary.  The concert will be offered on February 24 at the Downtown United Presbyterian Church, 121 N. <p><strong>•ROCHESTER PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA</strong> – A “Mozart &amp; More” concert will be presented on by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra on January 24 &amp; 26 in Kodak Hall @ Eastman Theatre, 26 Gibbs Street.  The program features Mark Kellogg on trombone and will be conducted by guest conductor, Yoav Talmi, the current Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Chamber Orchestra in Tel Aviv and Conductor Emeritus of the Quebec Symphony in Canada.  In addition to works by Mozart, “Concertino for Trombone and String Orchestra” by Lars-Erik Larsson will also be featured. The program will be repeated on Friday, January 25 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, NY&#8230;The “Sunday Matinees” series from our RPO continues on January 27 with a concert titled “A Mozart Family Affair” under the leadership of Andrew Constantine, Music Director of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic as well as the Reading Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania.  Celebrate Wolfgang’s birthday with music from three generations of his family at this performance, taking place at the Hochstein Performance Hall, 50 N.
