•Celebrate the EXHIBIT OPENING OF DOODLE 4 GOOGLE at Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square, on June 15.  The show is a display of the 2012 New York State contest finalists’ art, submitted by students in grades K thru 12.  Call (585) 263-2700.

•On June 15, Henrietta will host a HEALTHY COMMUNITIES CELEBRATION & MOVIE on the Town Hall lawn.  A DJ will get things started; and Puss-n-Boots will be screened.  Call (585) 359-2540.

•On June 16 at the Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square, a BUGGY BONANZA is planned.  Inspect creepy crawlers up close, meet an entomologist and a horticulturist; and learn facts about insects and plants.  Call (585) 263-2700.

•It’s Father’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than to take Dad on an old-fashioned train ride?  Head out to the MEDINA RAILROAD MUSEUM at 530 West Avenue in Medina, NY; and enjoy a two-hour ride through the historic Erie Canal corridor.  Departures are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  While you’re there, check out the huge HO-scale train layout – it’s 204 feet long! – and visit the largest railroad and toy train museum in NY State.  Call (585) 798-6106; or visit www.railroadmuseum.net on line.

•The CINEMA IN THE SQUARE series of family film screenings in Jackson Square, Batavia, includes the showing of We Bought a Zoo on June 20, Rio on July 18 and Gulliver’s Travels on August 15.   Bring a comfortable chair or blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars.  Call (585) 344-0900.

•The 3rd annual GONE FISHING DERBY for youngsters ages five to twelve is planned for June 23 at Victor Municipal Park, 6680 Paperone Drive, Victor NY.  There will be instruction, a derby, and prizes.  Lunch will be provided, but bring a fishing pole; and parents must accompany the kids.  Call ahead to register at (585) 742-0140.
