Big Fun For The Little Ones…

•The Young Open and Honest Players will present the comedy, HARVEY by Mary Chase, on June 1 & 2 at Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road.  This lighthearted family favorite follows Elwood P. Dowd as he begins to see a six-foot invisible rabbit.  The story will be told by members of the youth drama program for junior/senior high school students, YOPH, run through Penfield Recreation.  Call (585) 340-8655.

•A new, hands-on interactive and computer-based exhibit opens on June 2 & 3 at the Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square.  DESIGN ZONE reveals how video game developers, music producers, roller coaster designers and others use math to do amazing things.  Call (585) 263-2700.

•At the Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square, TODDLER BOOK CLUB session are scheduled on June 4 & 11.  This month, the subject of the meetings is “summertime stories.” Call (585) 263-2700.

•Monroe Community College at 1000 E. Henrietta Rd., will present a children’s play, ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY on June 7 in the MCC Theatre Building 4.  This adaptation of Judith Viorst’s book sets Alexander’s difficult day to music by Shelley Markham.  Call (585) 292-2534.

•The LITERATURE LIVE series, which finds characters jumping off the pages of children’s books to meet, greet, and pose with youngsters, continues on June 9 & 10 at the Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square.  Amelia Bedelia, the literal-minded housekeeper, will appear.  Call (585) 263-2700.
