Drumcliffe Irish Arts
A dance concert presented in celebration of twenty-five years of Edward J. Murphy Jr.’s work as director of Drumcliffe Irish Arts is planned on June 9 at the School of the Arts, 45 Prince Street. 25 Years of Dance will be composed of his traditional Irish work and his contemporary pieces and will showcase performances by his students, present company members, and alumni. Borinquen Dance Theatre
Marking its 31st year of “changing lives through dance and cultural arts education,” Borinquen Dance Theatre will offer a showcase at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, 657 East Avenue, on June 2nd. “Faces of El Caribe” will feature live performances from the company’s junior, intermediate and senior members; and will highlight dances that represent the company’s foundation of African, Taino Arawak Native, and Spanish influences – blending Puerto Rican folkloric dance and Latin contemporary pieces.
