•We’ve received word that trombonist Nick Finzer will be in town to play at Tala Vera, 155 State Street, on August 16. He’ll be performing with a quintet of Rochester-based musicians, offering music from his new release. (www.nickfinzermusic.com)
•Power-pop pioneer Ray Paul and local musician Tom Passamonte will perform at Abilene Bar & Lounge, 153 Liberty Pole Way, on August 21 as part of Don Christiano’s long running “With A Little Help From My Friends: Acoustic Tribute To The Beatles” show, presented at the club every other Tuesday. CD Release Parties:
•The House of Guitars at 645 Titus Avenue will host a CD Release Party for a new one recorded at the HOG by the band, Demand, on Friday, August 17 at 6 p.m. The following night, on August 18, Nothing Personal appears, performing music from their latest. The group will be playing live starting at 6 p.m.; cameras and autographs are welcome. (585-544-3500)
