Events:
•On September 22, the House of Guitars at 645 Titus Avenue will host a free concert by SPIKA. Founded by Eric Pinales and Jon Bishop, the band also features Mike Pinales and Lucan Shadler. They’ll play at 7 p.m…Next up at the HOG is an EP Release Party and free Instore Performance by KOPPS on September 29. The Rochester pop/dance act will perform at 6 p.m. (585-544-3500)
•A special fundraiser is planned on September 28 at Montage Music Hall, 50 Chestnut Street. The event will help pay the medical bills of Josh Simmonds, lead singer of Starlight. He was injured about a month ago when he was hit by a car while jogging. Cry to the Blind and Jordan Curran from Endyga as well as others will perform. (585-413-1642)
•The band Spectra, new to the Rochester music scene, will be playing on September 29 at Firehouse Saloon, 814 S. Clinton Avenue. Members of the group have been performing around town for some time – Doug Hilsinger is on guitar/vocals, Phil Lindsay on keys/vocals, Dave Profeta on guitar/vocals, Chuck Elberto on bass, and Van Sanzotta on drums. Together they play rock and blue-eyed soul. (585-319-3832)
•The September 29 show at Abilene Bar & Lounge, 153 Liberty Pole Way, features Rochester’s own popular roots band, Ghost Country. Opening for them is Nick Young, the talented young singer who also hails from right here our city. He’s back home to perform at Abilene and promises to bring along members of his original line-up of Burning Daylight. (585-232-3230)
